FARMINGTON — Some homes and businesses in Aztec will be temporarily without water on May 26 as crews complete work on a water line.

The contractor replacing the water line under the Hampton Arroyo will tie the new line into the existing water main under U.S. Highway 550 on May 26, according to a press release from the city.

The work will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to last several hours. Officials suggest residents plan for the water to be turned off until late in the afternoon.

Homes and business that will be affected by the water shut-off are located on the east side of U.S. Highway 550 between N.M. Highway 173 and North Rio Grande Avenue.

Residents can contact the city's Public Works Department at 505-334-7660 if they have questions.
