Aztec prepares for crack sealing on streets
FARMINGTON – Aztec motorists will notice an increase in road work April 18 as crews from Dismuke Construction begin sealing cracks in the streets, according to a press release from the city.
Officials hope to complete all the remaining crack sealing in the city. According to the press release, the crack sealing will not be needed again until 2020.
The work will start on streets within city limits east of the Animas River. The streets on the west side of the river will be sealed during the week of April 25, according to the press release.
Streets that need sealing are identified at aztecnm.gov. Residents will be informed through hanging door notifications. Residents should avoid parking on the streets during the crack sealing operations, according to the press release. The city is also asking residents to avoid over-watering landscaping and washing their cars during the crack sealing so that the streets do not get wet.
