FARMINGTON – The Aztec City Commission will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the Hidden Valley Golf Course.

The work session will precede the regular commission meeting and will give the commissioners a chance to hear about the golf course's financial condition.

Aztec took over the golf course in 2015. Since then, the course has not brought in the revenue it was projected to generate.

In December, commissioners approved transferring $35,000 from the electric utility fund to the municipal golf course fund. During a Chamber of Commerce meeting Thursday, city officials reported that the golf course now has a $95,000 deficit.

Commissioners are expected to decide whether the city wants to continue operating the course.

In addition to discussing the golf course, commissioners will discuss the city's water contract with the Southside Mutual Domestic Water Association, which provides water to areas along County Road 350 in Flora Vista and Crouch Mesa.
