Aztec business owner runs for District 1 seat
FARMINGTON — The new owner of the downtown Aztec business The Bistro declared his candidacy for Aztec City Commission District 1 on Tuesday.
Caleb Robinson, 33, will run against Austin Randall, 29, and incumbent Roberta Locke, 51, during the March 1 municipal elections. Candidates were required to file declarations of candidacy Tuesday at City Hall.
In addition to owning the downtown restaurant, Robinson is also an associate pastor at Animas Valley Church.
District 1 represents the southeast part of Aztec.
In its March election, Aztec voters will also choose a commissioner for District 3 and a municipal judge.
Farmington, Kirtland and Bloomfield will also have elections on March 1. The municipalities each have two council seats open, and Kirtland will also elect a mayor.
