Aztec will hold two meetings for residents affected by flooding
FARMINGTON — The city of Aztec will host two meeting this week for residents who experienced significant damage from the Aug. 26 thunderstorm that swept through San Juan County.
Residents from the Kokopelli subdivision will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Aztec City Hall, 201 W. Chaco St., to discuss damage to their homes from the recent storm.
Aztec officials will host a similar meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall to help residents find resources to recover from the storm.
Officials are also walking door-to-door in neighborhoods affected by the storm to leave residents informational brochures. If residents do not receive a brochure, they can call the city at 505-334-7604 or email email@example.com.
Officials are also asking private property owners to send an email to that address with photos and descriptions of damaged property, insurance claim information and how much money they may have spent on cleanup, as well as their names, addresses and phone numbers.
So far, officials estimate about $1.4 million in damage to public property from the storm.
