Aztec mayor elected vice president of New Mexico Municipal League

FARMINGTON — Aztec Mayor Sally Burbridge was elected vice president of the New Mexico Municipal League during a its annual conference on Sept. 3 in Albuquerque.

The league represents 106 incorporated municipalities in the state and is headquartered in Santa Fe. It works with lawmakers to develop policies, laws and regulations. It also provides workshops for officials to attend.

Burbridge will officially take over as vice president on Oct. 1. She is currently serving as the treasurer of the municipal league. David Izraelevitz, the Los Alamos City Council vice chairman, will replace Burbridge as treasurer.

Burbridge will replace Richard Cordova, the mayor of Eagle Nest, as vice president. Cordova was elected president-elect during the Sept. 3 conference.

David Venable, the mayor of Cloudcroft, will serve as the president.
