Aztec city officials to meet with community about storm damage
FARMINGTON — Aztec city officials will meet with residents and business owners at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at City Hall to discuss damage caused by the Aug. 26 storm.
The storm caused power outages and flooding, as well as fallen trees. Hail also caused damage to gardens, and high winds damaged buildings.
Since the storm, the city has been working with the San Juan County Office of Emergency Management to evaluate the damage and find resources to assist with repairing public buildings and other facilities.
While they are evaluating damage to public buildings, city officials also want to learn about the storm's impact on private property owners, according to a press release.
The city has created a special email address for residents and businesses to submit five to six photos, along with a message including property address, name, contact information and costs for repairs or insurance estimates. The photos should be less than 500 kilobytes each and can be sent to email@example.com.
The city is looking at what resources are available to assist residents and business owners.
