NM Highway 516 lanes east of Farmington close for construction
FARMINGTON — Lanes will be closed on New Mexico Highway 516 as the New Mexico Department of Transportation works on a mill and inlay improvement project, according to a press release from the department.
The project, which started Tuesday, will take place between mile marker five and mile marker 7.5 in east Farmington. The work will occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Both northbound and southbound lanes will have one lane closure.
The contractor, Cutler Repaving, Inc. out of Kansas, will do most of the work on weekdays and the lane closures will begin with northbound lanes and then move to southbound lanes, according to the press release.
During the construction, drivers can expect some delays. The New Mexico Department of Transportation urges drivers to use caution while driving through the work zone and to observe all traffic control signs and reduced speed limits.
Traffic advisories and updates will be posted on the department's website, nmroads.com. For more information, call the New Mexico Department of Transportation hotline at 5-1-1 or 1-800-432-4269.
