Fire burns 15 acres near Colorado border
FARMINGTON — The San Juan County Fire Department and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management have responded to a fire near the Colorado border on County Road 2300 northwest of Cedar Hill.
San Juan County Fire Department Division Chief Jordan Richards said the fire started Tuesday afternoon and has been burning high-desert vegetation.
He said there are no threatened structures, or oil or natural gas wells.
Richards said the fire has charred about 15 acres. He anticipates it should be fully contained by this evening.
