Local Fourth of July celebrations came to an end Thursday with the Party in the Park and the Fifth of July fireworks display in Bloomfield.

The festivities got underway during the late afternoon at the Bloomfield High School football practice field, where food trucks, vendors and music were featured, and visitors were encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The event concluded at dusk with the last of three fireworks shows that were scheduled across San Juan County in recent days. The Bloomfield fireworks show took place this year at a new location, next to the "B" hill, because of concerns about dry vegetation.

The activities wrapped up Bloomfield's Olde Tyme Family Fourth celebration, which included a parade on Wednesday.
