County Commission to meet Thursday
FARMINGTON — The San Juan County Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the county administration building, 100 S. Oliver Drive in Aztec.
The commission initially was scheduled to meet Tuesday, but the meeting was moved so as not to conflict with the primary election.
Fire Chief Craig Daugherty will review the drought conditions with the County Commission and will speak about the county’s ban on certain fireworks.
Other agenda items include setting salaries for elected officials and a possible agreement with the New Mexico Department of Transportation for use of rights of way along U.S. Highway 64.
The County Commission also will have a closed session to discuss the possibility of selling county properties for economic development purposes. The commission will not make any decisions regarding the properties during the Thursday meeting.
