CCSD board to discuss superintendent contract
PRC, San Juan County Commission also will meet this week
- The CCSD board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Shiprock board room at the district’s administration building.
- The PRC will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Santa Fe.
- The San Juan County Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the county administration building.
FARMINGTON — The Central Consolidated School District Board of Education will meet this week to address the district budget and its vacant superintendent position.
The meeting is set for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Shiprock board room at the district’s administration building.
Board members are scheduled to discuss and vote on several items, including the adoption of the district’s 2018-2019 budget, approval of the employment contract for the acting superintendent and the appointment of an interim superintendent for the upcoming school year.
Former CCSD Superintendent Colleen Bowman submitted her resignation during the April 27 board meeting. Terri Benn, principal of Eva B. Stokely Elementary School in Shiprock, was name the acting superintendent during the same meeting.
Other government entities are scheduled to meet this week, as well.
The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission will begin a week-long public hearing regarding the Public Service Company of New Mexico’s Integrated Resource Plan.
The hearing will start at 9:30 a.m. today in Santa Fe.
The integrated resource plan calls for a move away from coal, including closing the San Juan Generating Station.
The San Juan Water Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the San Juan Water Commission Office Building, 7450 East Main St. in Farmington.
The commission will introduce its new members representing the city of Bloomfield. Former Aztec City Commissioner Jack Scott will be Bloomfield’s primary representative on the commission, and former Bloomfield City Councilor Lynne Raner will serve as the alternate.
The San Juan County Commission has rescheduled its Tuesday meeting for Thursday due to the primary election. It will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the county administration building, 100 S. Oliver Drive in Aztec.
The San Juan College Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the college’s board room in the Educational Services Center on its main campus.
The college board is scheduled to vote on such items as the extensione of contracts for food service and information technology services.
