Bloomfield to discuss budget on Wednesday

BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield City Council likely will approve a fiscal year 2019 preliminary budget of about $13 million during a meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bloomfield City Hall, 915 N. 1st St., according to Councilor Ken Hare.

Hare presented finance information to residents during a community meeting Thursday. Hare said the budget for fiscal year 2019 is approximately equivalent to the budget for this fiscal year.

He said the city does not anticipate any increase in gross receipts tax revenue.

“We’re forecasting flat for next year,” he said.

The city is required to submit a preliminary budget to the state for approval by June 1.

The Farmington Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the downtown headquarters located at 119 W. Main St. It will discuss a business resiliency program.
