NMED lifts boil-water advisory for Chaco
FARMINGTON — The New Mexico Environment Department has lifted a boil-water advisory that was issued last month for Chaco Culture National Historical Park.
The advisory was issued Sept. 14 after E. coli was found in water samples from the park's water system. The environment department lifted the water sample Tuesday.
Recent water samples have been negative for bacteriological contamination, according to an NMED press release.
NMED will require Chaco Culture National Historical Park to assess the water system and maintain a regular monitoring schedule, according to a press release from NMED. The park will test the distribution system on a regular basis for total coliform bacteria and E. coli.
