Two dozen riders from the Texas 4000 annual charity bike ride left Farmington this morning en route to their next stop in Bluff, Utah, after dropping off a donation.
A total of 71 students from the University of Texas at Austin are riding from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska, to raise funds to fight cancer. The riders left Texas on June 2 and are scheduled to finish their ride in the middle of August.
The riders presented a $15,000 donation to the San Juan Medical Foundation during a ceremony this morning at the Connelly Hospitality House at 710 S. Lake St. in Farmington.
They also rode their bikes through the lobby of San Juan Regional Cancer Center before the ceremony.
