FLORA VISTA — No one was injured in a fire in Flora Vista that destroyed a home this morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m., firefighters responded to a call about a fully engulfed structure on County Road 3451. When crews arrived on scene, two connected single-wide trailers were fully engulfed by flames.

No one was home when the fire started.

One of the trailers and the front portion of the other one were completely destroyed. Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the blaze.

San Juan County Fire Chief Craig Daughtery said the setup of two connected trailers can present challenges for firefighters because there are two separate structures and the fire can get between them.

Staff from the local Red Cross chapter was at the scene and will assist the family with buying clothes and other necessities.
