FARMINGTON — The Farmington Municipal School District is planning ribbon-cutting ceremonies and guided tours of two schools where renovation work recently was completed.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies are scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McCormick Elementary School, 701 McCormick School Road, and at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Farmington High School at 2200 N. Sunset Ave, according to Farmington schools spokesperson Renee Lucero.

The Farmington High School campus project involved the demolition of nearly all of the school's buildings and the construction of new structures, including a gym around a courtyard.

The guided tours at FHS will start after the ceremony and run until until 6 p.m.

The new construction at McCormick Elementary School included new classrooms, bathrooms, a computer lab, a secure entryway and student drop-off lanes.

The guided tours of McCormick will start after the ceremony and run until 2:30 p.m.
