FARMINGTON — Three more graduation ceremonies were held today in San Juan County.

About 140 students of the Shiprock High School senior class received their diplomas this morning during a commencement ceremony at the Chieftain Pit. Jeneva Ben sang the national anthem. Tanisha Begay delivered the invocation, and Amica Haceesa welcomed the crowd. Erin Todachinnie recognized the guests on stage. Valedictorian Jacqueline Medalle and salutatorian Kevin Begay both addressed the crowd. The guest speaker, Dr. Stanley Atcitty, was introduced by Shenaya Brown. Julian Talk led the students in a tassel ceremony, and Ben said the benediction.

The 16 graduating seniors from Shiprock Northwest High School also celebrated the completion of their high school career at their commencement ceremony Saturday morning. Lana Eldridge gave the invocation, and Nicholas Willig Jr. welcomed the crowd. Honor graduates Taryn Tsinnie, Trinity Brown and Daeliah Topaha addressed the crowd. Elijah Mark introduced Eva B. Stokely as the commencement speaker. Brown led the students in the tassel ceremony, and Eldridge gave the benediction.

Navajo Preparatory School celebrated its 61 graduating seniors at its commencement ceremony on the school's football field tonight. Sarah Chacon sang the national anthem, and Nizhoni Tallas gave the invocation. Eric Woody welcomed the crowd, and Bryanna Antonio introduced Roderick Denetso as the commencement speaker. Kaylee Wood recognized parents. Valedictorian Kelly Charley and salutatorian Sarah Gurule both addressed the crowd. Israel Gabaldon and TaChey Sandoval led the ring and tassel ceremony. Skyenne Soriano and Anthony Pioche-Lee led the senior appreciation, and Taishiana Tsosie recited the benediction.
