Farmington students will showcase tech projects

FARMINGTON — Farmington Municipal School District students will display their technology projects on Saturday at the Animas Valley Mall as part of the district's Farmington Learning Initiative.

About 75 middle and high school students will present their projects at the Farmington Learning Initiative Showcase in the mall's center court from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students will show projects created on Apple MacBook laptop computers. The projects focus on graphic design, photography, films, websites, 3-D animation and video games.

Using a large projector, students will also present information about their projects and the techniques behind them.

The Farmington Learning Initiative provides 5,400 laptops for middle and high school students to use during the school year.

Middle school students will present from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and presentations from high school students will run from 1 to 3 p.m.
