Farmington police investigate stabbing of 3 men

Suspect in custody; condition of victims unknown

Officers for the Farmington Police Department investigate the parking lot of the building located at 101 W. Animas St. on Wednesday afternoon where three people were stabbed by a male suspect. The suspect is in police custody.

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department is investigating an apparent stabbing this afternoon in which three people were injured and the suspect was taken into custody.

Farmington police were dispatched around 3:39 p.m. to a building at 101 W. Animas St. on a report of a stabbing, according to Farmington police spokesperson Georgette Allen.

Three men were transported from the scene with lacerations, Allen said.

Two of the men were transported to the San Juan Regional Medical Center by ambulance, while the third man was transported by an officer, according to Allen. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

A male suspect is in police custody, Allen said.

Officers on the scene closed down part of the south parking lot of the building, which houses state government agencies, as they investigated the scene.
