FARMINGTON — A Bloomfield woman has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for a methamphetamine trafficking conviction.

Season Smith, 41, was sentenced to seven years and eight months Tuesday in federal prison in Albuquerque federal court, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.

Her co-defendant, Jeffery Kline, 46, of Farmington was sentenced to 10 years in prison with six years of supervised release. The defendants were indicted on Feb. 10, 2017.

Smith entered her guilty plea during a May 30 hearing in which she admitted to being in possession of meth with the intent to distribute it, according to the press release.

Kline and Smith were stopped by law enforcement on Feb. 20, 2017, while traveling from Arizona to New Mexico with about 512 grams or around 1.1 pounds of meth.

Smith admitted to picking up the meth from a supply source on the trip.

The case was investigated by the Farmington Police Department and the Farmington FBI office.
