Business owner arrested on child pornography charges

FARMINGTON — A Farmington business owner has been arrested for allegedly having child pornography stored on a computer in his firm's office.

All Star Auto owner Patrick Martinez, of Aztec, was arrested after detectives traced an IP address to a computer at All Star Auto, located on East Main Street, according to a press release from San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office's Internet crimes against children task force searched the business at 8:30 a.m. today, according to the press release.

The press release states Martinez was the sole person with access to the computer, which was located in the back office. The hard drive allegedly had child pornography stored on it.

Martinez was booked into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center. He is being charged with a third-degree felony for allegedly distributing child pornography and a fourth-degree felony for allegedly possessing child pornography.
