Man in critical condition after laundry stabbing

Multiple people reported to be involved in altercation

Farmington police investigate a reported stabbing on Friday at the Laundratopia parking lot at 101 Gooding Lane in Farmington.

FARMINGTON — One person was in critical condition following a stabbing on the west side of Farmington this afternoon at a self-service laundry.

Evidence markers dot the parking lot of the Laundratopia location at 101 Gooding Lane in Farmington on Friday after a stabbing left a man in critical condition.

Officers were dispatched around 12:44 p.m. to the Laundratopia location at 101 Gooding Lane along West Main Street on a report of a stabbing, according to Farmington police spokeswoman Georgette Allen.

Multiple individuals were involved in an altercation that resulted in one man being stabbed.

The man was transported from the scene to the San Juan Regional Medical Center by a citizen, Allen said.

The stabbing victim was listed in critical condition at the hospital this afternoon.

Police closed part of the laundry's parking lot on the east side of the building as part of the crime scene, and officers interviewed witnesses as part of the investigation.

Police also were interviewing the individuals involved in the altercation that lead to the stabbing, according to Allen.
