FARMINGTON — Farmington police have identified the man found dead in a ditch behind a church last week.

Police said Andrew Charley, 57, from the Bloomfield area, is the man whose body was discovered behind Desert Heights Church at 1835 E. Main St., according to Cpt. Taft Tracy.

Officers were dispatched at 11:51 a.m. Thursday on reports of a body in a ditch.

Police arrived on the scene and found the man face down in the water.

There appears to be nothing suspicious about Charley's death, Tracy said.

Farmington police are waiting for the results of a report from the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator to determine how Charley died, Tracy said.
