FARMINGTON — Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a Farmington man that took place Wednesday afternoon.

Eugene Harrison, 40, was identified as the victim of the stabbing, according to Farmington Police Department spokeswoman Georgette Allen.

Police were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday to the shuttered Red Lion Inn at 700 Scott Ave. after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed. 

Harrison was transported from the scene to the San Juan Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, Allen said.

Allen declined to share additional details on Harrison's injuries or information on a possible suspect because the investigation is ongoing.
