Man accused of embezzling from Porter’s Restaurant
Everett Multine is accused of third-degree felony embezzlement.
FARMINGTON — A Farmington man is accused of embezzling more than $2,800 from Porter’s Restaurant and Smokehouse.
Everett Multine, 52, was charged Tuesday in Farmington Magistrate Court with a third-degree felony embezzlement (over $2,500 but not more than $20,000), according to court records.
He was arrested on Tuesday and was released shortly after from the San Juan County Adult Detention Center after posting bail.
Multine currently had no legal representation as of this afternoon, according to court records.
Officers for the Farmington Police Department were dispatched to Porter’s Restaurant and Smokehouse at 2210 E. 20th St. on Sunday by co-owner Mile Ulrich, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.
Ulrich told police he noticed Multine's drawer was not balancing and discovered there were 12 instances between May 9 and June 8 when his drawer did not balance, according to court documents.
There was allegedly $2,840 missing from Multine's register drawers during a nearly four-week period, Ulrich told police.
The amounts ranged from $100 to $390, according to court documents.
He added Multine recently changed positions from a full-time cook to part-time cook/manager position.
Ulrich told police he would review the footage from a security camera pointed at the cash register.
Multine's first court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
