Police investigate stabbing at Wal-Mart

FARMINGTON — Farmington police are investigating a stabbing that occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. today at the Wal-Mart on West Main Street.

Farmington Police Cpl. Brian Johnston said a woman was stabbed in the parking lot at the store.

He said there were no life-threatening injuries, and the suspect was in custody. The woman who was stabbed was taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center.

Farmington Police Cpl. Jason Thorburg said late today that the victim had sustained minor injuries and had been released from the hospital.

Police have not released the names of the people involved.
