Police seek info on alcohol shoplifting suspect

Deputies are seeking information on a male suspect who has allegedly stolen alcohol multiple times from a Giant gas station in Kirtland.


FARMINGTON - The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying a male suspect who has allegedly stolen alcohol multiple times from a Kirtland gas station . 

The suspect is described as a dark-haired teenage male who allegedly stole hard liquor in three separate incidents from the Giant gas station at 4151 U.S. Highway 64, according to San Juan County Sheriff's Office detective Lt. Kyle Lincoln.

The Sheriff's Office shared the photo of the unidentified suspect in a post to its Facebook page this Monday morning.

On Friday at 5:31 p.m., the suspect fled the store on foot after he allegedly stole two gallon bottles of vodka, according to Lincoln. 

The next day, on Saturday, the suspect allegedly stole a gallon bottle of vodka at 10:08 a.m. He left the gas station in a brown, two-door truck eastbound on U.S. Highway 64 with another male suspect, Lincoln said. 

Lincoln did not have information on the third incident. 

There have been seven reports of people shoplifting alcohol from the Giant gas station this month, Lincoln said. 

Eight reports of shoplifting at the gas station were filed through the months of September, October and November, according to Lincoln.
