FARMINGTON — A Farmington woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to a child pornography charge.

Tristalyn Valencia, 30, admitted in a plea agreement on April 13 that she distributed sexual images of a young female relative, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.

She will have five years of supervised release after her prison sentence and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Valencia was arrested on Dec. 24, 2015, on nine counts of producing visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the press release.

She admitted to distributing the images in June 2012. The victim in the photos was under the age of 12, according to the release.
