FARMINGTON — Farmington police are investigating a stabbing on Tuesday evening.

At 7:18 p.m., officers responded to 304 S. Schwartz Ave. and found a man, Darrin Farley, with multiple stab wounds, said Farmington police Lt. Taft Tracy.

Farley was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition this afternoon, Tracy said. Farley had eight stab wounds in his back, and both of his lungs were punctured, Tracy said.

Tracy said Farley’s girlfriend helped officers locate the man. The girlfriend was found with blood on her hands and was released from the scene at her request, Tracy said.

Farley and his girlfriend both identified a suspect, but Tracy declined to name that suspect, adding that detectives are still investigating the incident.
