Farmington man arrested in child's molestation
FARMINGTON — A 33-year-old Farmington man was arrested today on allegations he raped a young relative.
Norlando Pierce was charged Monday in Farmington Magistrate Court with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual penetration of a child and four related third-degree felonies.
Farmington police spokeswoman Georgette Allen said Pierce was arrested today and booked into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
Allen said Pierce made some admissions of guilt today during an interview with detectives.
Pierce has not retained legal representation, according to court records.
Farmington police learned in April of the alleged sexual abuse, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The girl told investigators she was sexually abused by Pierce, and after therapy, she said the abuse began in 2012 when she was 7 years old, the affidavit states.
She told investigators the first two incidents occurred while she lived in Kirtland, but continued after her family moved to Farmington in 2014, according to the affidavit.
The girl drew pictures to represent the alleged abuse, which showed her on a couch under a puddle of blood, the affidavit states. She said she was raped multiple times over a span of three years, most recently in December, according to the affidavit.
The girl said Pierce also took photos of her nude, but his cell phone was destroyed when it was dropped in water, according to the affidavit.
A preliminary examination hearing for Pierce has not been scheduled.
