FARMINGTON — The state has dismissed rape charges against Rashaud Williams.

Williams, 18, of Farmington, was charged May 19 in Farmington Magistrate Court with two counts of criminal sexual penetration on allegations he forcibly raped a 15-year-old girl on Feb. 14 at a Farmington residence, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The girl told police she met again with Williams four days later, and he again forced himself on her, the affidavit states.

Williams' attorney, Steve Murphy, said evidence presented at a preliminary examination hearing on Thursday suggested the sex was consensual.

"If there was any sex, it was totally consensual," Murphy said.
