FARMINGTON — A Farmington man was arrested this afternoon for allegedly stabbing another man earlier in the day outside Sam’s Club.

Roger Lara, 23, turned himself in to police at about 1:40 p.m. at his attorney's office in Farmington, according to Farmington police Lt. Taft Tracy.

Lara faces two counts of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated assault, according to Tracy.

Tracy said officers were dispatched at 8:24 a.m. today to the Sam's Club at 4500 E. Main St. in Farmington, after receiving reports of the stabbing.

Tracy said officers learned two male employees got into a fight outside the store this morning. Lara allegedly stabbed Edwin Hochenedel, 45, and then fled the scene in a silver passenger car with a broken driver's side window, according to Tracy.

Hochenedel suffered two stab wounds and was in stable condition this afternoon, Tracy said.
