Farmington police investigate suspicious death
Body of 43-year-old man will be sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy to determine a cause of death
FARMINGTON — Police investigated a suspicious death today at a residence on Smith Lane.
Farmington police Lt. Taft Tracy said officers were dispatched at 8:02 a.m. to a trailer at 1035 Smith Lane after receiving reports that a 43-year-old man had been found dead there.
Tracy said it appeared the man had been dead for approximately a day. Detectives learned at the scene that the man had a history of alcoholism and may have suffered from an alcohol-related illness, according to Tracy.
Tracy said a 42-year-old woman at the residence was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
He said the man's body will be sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
The death remained under investigation this afternoon.
