Farmington police investigate suspicious death

Body of 43-year-old man will be sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy to determine a cause of death

FARMINGTON — Police investigated a suspicious death today at a residence on Smith Lane.

Farmington police Lt. Taft Tracy said officers were dispatched at 8:02 a.m. to a trailer at 1035 Smith Lane after receiving reports that a 43-year-old man had been found dead there.

Tracy said it appeared the man had been dead for approximately a day. Detectives learned at the scene that the man had a history of alcoholism and may have suffered from an alcohol-related illness, according to Tracy.

Farmington police on Thursday investigate a report of a suspicious death at 1035 Smith Lane in Farmington.

Tracy said a 42-year-old woman at the residence was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

He said the man's body will be sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

The death remained under investigation this afternoon.
