Police seek man in battery at Crouch Mesa home

FARMINGTON – Randall Helt, 38, is wanted by police in connection to a domestic battery Monday afternoon in Crouch Mesa.

Helt is accused of beating his girlfriend at 2:24 p.m. Monday at a residence on County Road 3147, according to a message on the San Juan County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. The woman suffered two broken bones in her face and a collapsed lung.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office dispatched its SWAT team and established a perimeter at the residence after receiving reports of the battery, according to the sheriff's office. The SWAT team eventually breached the residence and determined Helt had fled the home before its arrival.

Helt is described by police as 6-foot-3 with a medium build, blue eyes and light-brown hair. He may be in the Blanco or Bloomfield area.
