Child abuse warrant issued for Crouch Mesa man
FARMINGTON – A Crouch Mesa man is wanted by police on allegations he solicited sex from a young male relative.
Miguel Angel Teran, 26, was charged April 12 in Aztec Magistrate Court with child solicitation and criminal sexual contact of a minor.
Detective Lt. Kyle Lincoln confirmed Wednesday that Teran remained a fugitive. Teran's bond was set at $10,000, according to court records.
Detectives from the San Juan County Sheriff's Office learned April 7 that a San Juan County boy had received solicitous Facebook messages from a male relative, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The boy told detectives Teran sent him several sexually explicit messages, the affidavit states. Teran also allegedly told the boy that he groped him in December while the boy was asleep, according to the affidavit.
The boy said he showed the messages to his father, who confronted Teran, according to the affidavit. Teran allegedly told the father his Facebook account had been hacked, the affidavit states.
A relative told detectives on April 8 that Teran closed his Facebook account and had not visited the residence in the past 24 hours.
The boy's father told detectives he believed Teran had fled to Lovington, according to the affidavit.
