Farmington man arrested after argument over $27

FARMINGTON — A Farmington man has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly fired gun Thursday afternoon during a verbal argument with housemates over a $27 debt.
Stanley Pearson, 40, allegedly fired a single shot after an argument with two of the people who lived with him at a home in the 600 block of Glade Road in Farmington.
A neighbor called police shortly after 2:30 p.m. and reported she heard a handgun go off while she was searching for her cat outside her house, according to a probable cause statement.
According to court documents, Pearson was arguing with two people over $27 they claimed he owed them. He allegedly fired a handgun as they were walking away from the house.
Police found an empty nylon gun holster in Pearson's bedroom, according to court records.
A gunshot residue test on Pearson's hands did not come back positive, according to documents.
Stanley Pearson's wife, Marsalee Pearson, 38, was also arrested on an unrelated felony warrant.
