Man accused of firing handgun during argument

FARMINGTON – A 40-year-old man was arrested Thursday after a shooting at a residence in the 600 block of Glade Road.

Stanley Pearson, of Farmington, fired a handgun outside the home after an argument, according to a press release from the Farmington Police Department.

No one was injured in the shooting, the release states.

Police were dispatched to the residence at 2:36 p.m. Thursday. Officers learned several people were at the home when a verbal argument broke out between two men, the release states. One of the men, who was later identified as Pearson, allegedly fired a shot with a handgun at that time.

Pearson has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the press release.

His wife, Marsalee Pearson, 38, was arrested on an unrelated warrant, the release states.

Both have been booked into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center.
