Los Alamos man accused of child solicitation

FARMINGTON – A 25-year-old Los Alamos man has been charged in Aztec Magistrate Court with four counts of child solicitation after his arrest last week in a police sex sting.

Casper Cly has not retained legal representation, according to court records.

An undercover detective with the San Juan County Sheriff's Office contacted Cly on March 29 after the man allegedly posted an ad online titled "Hey Little Sis...," according to court records.

The detective told Cly he was a 14-year-old girl, and Cly allegedly asked him for explicit photos, records state. Cly then sent the detective several explicit photos, records state.

On March 30, Cly allegedly wrote the detective: "How and when is the best time to have sex ... if we have sex sis ... ."

Cly sent several more explicit messages to the detective, and they arranged to meet the next night at a park in Aztec, records state.

Detectives found Cly at the park on March 31 and placed him under arrest, according to records. Cly told detectives in an interview that he went to the park to have sex with a 14-year-old girl but did not intend to follow through with the act.

Cly was being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond, according to court records.

He is scheduled to appear Thursday at a preliminary examination hearing.
