Man reportedly shot in leg Saturday

FARMINGTON – A 23-year-old Aztec resident was transported to the San Juan Regional Medical Center on Saturday after being shot in the leg, according to a press release from the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.

Raymond Shalley was in stable condition Saturday night following the shooting, which occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on County Road 5482 in the Lee Acres area southwest of Bloomfield, according to the press release.

Shalley told deputies that he had arrived at a residence to pick someone up when a man drove up, approached him, shot him in the leg and battered him in the face, according to the press release. He told officers that he did not know the alleged attacker.

The suspect also reportedly demanded money, according to the press release.

The sheriff's office has recovered evidence at multiple locations and continues to investigate the incident. The suspect has not been identified.
