FARMINGTON — Chad Dobbs, 38, of Farmington, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion he burglarized a Farmington business.

Farmington police spokeswoman Georgette Allen said officers were dispatched at approximately 4 a.m. to the intersection of 30th Street and Butler Avenue after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle.

Allen said officers found Dobbs at the scene attempting to hitch a trailer to an oil truck. Allen said an investigation showed both the trailer and the oil truck had been stolen from TRC Construction, located at 789 N.M. Highway 516 in Flora Vista.

Allen said police also found tools belonging to TRC Construction in Dobbs' possession.

Dobbs was arrested at the scene. Allen said officers believe a second man, Ricky Phillips, fled the scene before police arrived. Phillips, 23, is being sought for questioning.

He is being held at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center on a $91,629 bond. He faces charges of vandalism, larceny, burglary, vehicle theft and conspiracy, among other lesser offenses.
