Community Calendar: Cleanup Day Sept. 30 at Glade Run Recreation Area

NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY CLEANUP: On Sept. 30, the Bureau of Land Management invites the public to join in a trash cleanup at the Glade Run Recreation Area from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Check in at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the BLM Farmington Field Office at 6251 College Blvd. Volunteers will get t-shirts and a free pass for any participating federal agency fee area. Email, or call 505-564-7727. Include the number of volunteers. Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their form. BLM will provide gloves, bottled water, trash bags and five-gallon buckets on the day of the event.
A REAL NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: Join the Farmington Museum for live music, tractor rides and traditional favorite hands-on activities and crafts, as Farmington’s past comes alive for a Real Night at the Museum on Sept. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. This is a free event.
RACE 2 EDUCATE: The Foundation for Educational Excellence will host Farmington’s Annual Race to Educate 5K, 10K and 1/2 marathon on September 30th. The Annual Race to Educate will begin at 7am starting from the Farmington High School Campus. Kids race for free, those under age 8 must have an adult accompanying them. DOWNTOWN MAKER'S MARKET: Visit Downtown Farmington for the Downtown Maker’s Market in Orchard Park every Thursday evening through Oct. 26. The Maker’s Market features vendors who grow and sell produce and create baked goods, handmade goods, art, and re-purposed items; along with collectors of antiques and vintage items and much more.
FARMINGTON GROWER’S MARKET: Shop for locally grown food and hand-made goods at the Farmington Grower’s Market every Saturday, 8 a.m. Until noon, and Tuesday, 4-6 p.m., at the Farmington Museum & Visitor Center.
