FARMINGTON — Starting next week, volunteers with Four Corners Tax Help will help low- and moderate-income residents prepare their tax returns for free.

Volunteers will be available Monday through March 18 at the Quality Center for Business at San Juan College, 5101 College Blvd. in Farmington, according to a press release from the college.

Volunteers have completed tax-preparation training and are certified through the Internal Revenue Service. They will be available to help prepare and electronically file 2016 taxes from 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in room 5003 at the Quality Center for Business.

Those who use the service must bring several documents, including a photo ID; Social Security cards for everyone in the return; W-2 wage and tax statements from employers; 1099 forms; interest statements; dividend statements; a bank document with the routing and account number for direct deposit; if claiming dependent care expenses, a statement from the provider with the amount paid, address and tax number; 1095, A, B or C Affordable Health Care statements; a list of itemized deductible expenses; if necessary, form E-2G for gambling winnings; and records of all other income received.

Participants are also asked to bring a copy of their 2015 tax return.
