Chamber Chat: Farmington prepares for Christmas
Thank you to everyone who came out, sponsored, volunteered and cooked at this year’s Chile in October. The Chamber’s Promotions and Special Events Committee did an outstanding job. Everyone enjoyed fabulous red chile, green chile, homestyle chile (our new category) and salsa. There was great music and beautiful weather. We had 16 cooks, 27 different kinds of chilies and salsas to taste and more than 650 people attended the event.
If you missed it, you can check out pictures on the chamber Facebook page. Congratulations to all of our chile and salsa winners:

The Farmington Chamber hosted the New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry, or ACI, during its Focus Tour of New Mexico. They met with chamber members and community leaders to hear what concerns us individually and collectively. The input and feedback they received will contribute to ACI’s policy agenda for the upcoming legislative session in January.
Hopefully by now you have started, or at least thought about, your Christmas shopping and you are finding that shopping right here in Farmington is the only way to shop. There is nothing like finding the perfect gift and knowing that you are helping a local business and the economy in your town.
Speaking of Christmas, it will be "Christmas Around the World" at the Farmington Christmas parade, which will be held at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, on Main Street. There will be bands, floats and most importantly Santa Claus. Come out and enjoy the beginning of the holiday deason. This parade is sponsored by our good friends at ConocoPhillips. If you would like to participate in this year’s parade, please call the chamber for more information.
Remember, you can always stop by the chamber office for all the latest news in the community or give us a call. Our office is located at 100 W. Broadway Ave., and our phone number is 505-325-0279. We would love to see you. The Farmington Chamber is organized for the purpose of serving and advancing the civic and business interest of the city of Farmington and the Four Corners region.
Audra Winters is the president and CEO of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce.
