The Chamber is getting ready for the 2018 Four Corners Oil and Gas Conference, which will be held on May 9 and 10 at McGee Park. This conference happens every other year, and the Chamber is so lucky to be part of it.

As of now we have 200 exhibitors, over 20 guest speakers, and more than 900 people attending each day.

At this year’s conference, there will be a variety of presentations on topics such as safety, corrosion control, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection.

Presenters include organizations such as New Mexico Energy Minerals & Natural Resources Department, the Colorado School of Mines, Rio Grande Foundation and BLM.

There's a new place for a cool treat. On April 6 they cut the ribbon at Aspen Leaf Frozen Yogurt, located at 5150 E. Main St.

Besides the Chamber these other organizations play a big part in putting this conference on.  They are: Four Corners Chapter of API American Petroleum Institute, Sandia Mountain Section of NACE National Association of Corrosion Engineers, Four Corners Chapter of ASSE American Society of Safety Engineers, Four Corners Chapter of SPE Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Desk and Derrick Club of Farmington.

Just like with the Chamber committees, these amazing people are also volunteers. A conference like this would not happen without all of these people coming together.
The conference is opened to companies and personnel in the oil and gas industry, but will benefit the community as a whole.

If you would like more information about the conference, please call the Chamber at 505-325-0279.

April 18 was the date for a ribbon cutting for the new fitness center at the Connelly House, 710 S Lake St.
