Bloomfield Chamber: Balloon Rally to take off in June

The Chamber is actively looking for event, balloon glow, media and individual balloon sponsors

Farmington Daily Times
Janet Mackey, Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce board president

Greetings from Bloomfield!

We just finished our annual Bloomfield Days Celebration. It was a huge success – and we had GREAT weather. Kids Night Out was Friday, complete with games hosted by the Police and Fire Departments and the Chamber, booths hosted by Sonic, Horizon Home Health Care, Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield, Presbyterian Medical Services and The Power of Prayer Church. The hit of the night was the Coin Dig, thanks to our sponsors Animas Credit Union, Bank of the Southwest, Citizens Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. The kids loved it! Saturday, we had a fantastic showing of vendors, food and live music, and we finished the day with our Duck Race. First place winner was Kim Martinez and the last duck to finish the race belonged to Yvonne Kelleco. A huge thanks to all of those who volunteered their time – we could not have done it without you!

Please mark your calendars! Starting June 16, we have a wonderful event coming to Bloomfield that we would like to share with the entire communities of Farmington, Aztec, Kirtland and Bloomfield. The Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce, along with the City of Bloomfield, is pleased to announce the upcoming 10th Annual San Juan River Balloon Rally that will take place on June 16, 17 and 18 at the soccer fields in Bloomfield off of First Street. Come out and join us as balloons fill the skies over Bloomfield. This is an event you will not want to miss. There will be a mass ascension on all three days at approximately 6:30 am. Come walk the fields and talk to the pilots each and every day. A special feature is the Balloon Glow on Saturday night, beginning at 7 p.m. Bring the kids, cameras and lawn chairs, and come enjoy this awesome event. Live music will even be provided for your entertainment.

Please remember, all events are weather-permitting. If you need more information or would like to volunteer to be a part of the grounds crew and/or chase crew, please call the Chamber at 505-632-0880. Volunteers are always needed and are much appreciated!

We are actively looking for sponsors. If you would like to be an event, balloon glow, media or individual balloon sponsor, we do have openings. Call Amy at 505-632-0880 and she can email you all the information. I guarantee: it is a wonderful opportunity and you will have forever memories.

We are pleased to welcome two new businesses to Bloomfield, and we wish them both much success. State Farm Insurance is now operating under the guidance of Teresa Hensley. Kelly’s Dry Cleaners has also opened. Both provide wonderful, much-needed services to Bloomfield. Stop by to see them both – they would be delighted to introduce themselves and their services.
