Kylee Hammargren and Cory Burns, both of Aurora, Colo., are proud to announce their engagement.

The couple will marry Sept. 10 at the home of Johnny and Mya Donaldson, of Aztec.

Kylee’s parents are Alan and Lorry Hammargren, of Aztec. Kylee graduated from Aztec High School in 2007 and is currently employed with JBK Landscape in the accounting department.

Cory’s parents are Rick and Tracy Burns, of Farmington. Cory, a 2008 Piedra Vista High School graduate, has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from New Mexico State University.  He is currently employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

The couple shares a mutual passion for animals and met one another at San Juan Veterinary Hospital. Within a year, they moved to Aurora, Colo. They recently bought their first home and plan to stay in Colorado.

Cory proposed last year on Christmas Eve. He initially planned to propose as the couple looking at houses decorated with Christmas lights. But after church, Kylee wanted to stay home, so he dropped to one knee in the middle of the kitchen and proposed there.
