Anniversary: Sylvia and Joe Garcia

Joe and Sylvia Garcia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18.

Sylvia and Joe Garcia, of Farmington, will celebrate their 50th anniversary later this month.

The couple married on June 18, 1966, in Cortez, Colo., with Albert Campbell officiating. They met through mutual friends in Cortez.

They plan to celebrate the milestone with a vow renewal and a dance at the Farmington Elks Lodge.

Joe is employed at R.A. Biel Plumbing & Heating Inc. in Farmington, and Sylvia is retired from Patterson UTI Drilling.

Together, the couple enjoys spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as camping, fishing and hunting.

Sylvia and Joe Garcia were married on June 18, 1966, in Cortez, Colo.

The couple has three children, Mary Ellen (Ron) Swafford of Lemoor, Calif., Joe Garcia of Midland, Texas, and Angela (Bob) Nicholls of Farmington; nine grandchildren, Nikki Nicholls, Amber DeAnda and Brittany and Dillion Mecure of Farmington, Autumn (John) Garcia of Socorro, Alex DeAnda of Albuquerque, and Ryen, Noah and Joe Garcia Jr. of Midland, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Abreea DeAnda of Farmington and Jayde and Noah Garcia of Socorro.
