Anniversary: Carr and Willie Stolworthy

Carr and Willie Stolworthy will celebrate 70 years of marriage on March 15.

Carr and Willie Stolworthy, of Farmington, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.

The couple met through mutual friends in Farmington. They married on Carr’s 18th birthday on March 15, 1946, in Kirtland. Carr’s father, Jesse Henry Stolworthy, officiated the service.

Carr was employed at Berg Geophysical, Buckley Powder Co. and the city of Farmington, where he retired from in 1992. Willie retired from First National Bank in 1993.

Together, the couple enjoys traveling, camping, gardening, researching family history and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

The couple has two daughters, Sandra Broadhead and Beverly Ann Henley, who passed away in 1985; three granddaughters, Kimbally Gardner, of Gilbert, Ariz., Tami Newby, of Yuma, Ariz., and Amanda Bowen, of Cypress, Texas; and five great-grandchildren, Taygen and Tanner Newby, Natalie Rushmeyer and Ty and Anika Bowen.

Carr and Willie Stolworthy were married on March 15, 1946, in Kirtland.
