Aztec woman named Mrs. San Juan County

Savanah Lee Ray, of Aztec, has been selected as Mrs. San Juan County for 2017.

FARMINGTON — Savanah Lee Ray has been selected as Mrs. San Juan County for 2017.

Ray will represent San Juan County in the 41st annual Mrs. New Mexico Pageant in June at the African American Performing Arts Center in Albuquerque, according to a press release from Sheree Cooke, executive state director for the Mrs. New Mexico Pageant.

The winner of the state pageant will receive prizes worth more than $8,000 and will advance to the Mrs. America Pageant.

Savanah Ray is the wife of Aztec City Manager Joshua Ray. The couple has three daughters, Kaydence, Kambree and Kenzlee.

She was born and raised in Aztec and graduated from New Haven Christian Academy in Farmington in 2003, according to a provided biography.

She works part-time at her family’s business, Habanero Grill, and is the founder of the Savanah’s Ray of Light nonprofit, which aims to help those in need. The organization works to "help people with the myriad of needs they may have," including with groceries and other essentials, marriage counseling, life management and addiction support.
